A SMALL STUDIO. ALL YOURS.

Your stories stay here.
On your device.

Once the required models and language resources are ready, speech recognition, translation, Cantonese, English or Mandarin dubbing, and video export run on your device. Your video, audio and dialogue do not need to be uploaded to a cloud dubbing service.

Initial setup, model and language-resource downloads, updates and retrieving cloud files may need internet access. Language support, speed and quality depend on your device and selected model; not every voice engine supports all three languages. AI can mistranslate or mispronounce words. Review the result.

01 / Shion

02 / Mio

Your media stays on your device for processing.

“Once the models and language resources are ready, your own device handles your video and audio. No cloud upload for conversion, so you can relax! Just connect for the first downloads and updates.”

03 / Himari

Each take can sound a little different.

“Generate the same line again, and its tone or pauses may change. A new take is not always better. Listen first, then choose the version you prefer.”

04 / Saya

A careful listen helps you spot mistakes.

“AI can mishear, mistranslate, or mispronounce a word. Compare the original and translation, then listen to the delivery. Check important meanings yourself.”

05 / Kohaku

KohakuKohaku

Three dubbing languages, different expressions.

“Try the same line in Cantonese, English, then Mandarin. Hear how the feeling changes! Apple's Chinese translation may not sound like everyday Cantonese, so check the local wording and tone.”

06 / Wakaba

WakabaWakaba

Read and learn, one line at a time.

“Oh, that line makes sense now! In learning mode, translate one line and listen with both texts. One Cantonese word today, another line tomorrow. Let's learn together!”

07 / Hikari

HikariHikari

Translate first, then choose a voice model.

“The iPhone and iPad versions are in development. On supported devices, built-in translation prefers Apple Intelligence, then your selected AI model voices the translation. Translation and dubbing each have their own language limits.”

08 / Kiyone

KiyoneKiyone

Repeat a small passage, at your pace.

“If a line is unclear, there is no need to rush ahead. Loop a short passage, notice its endings, rhythm, and subtitles, and let the meaning become familiar.”

09 / Tsukino

Try a short clip before a longer story.

“Processing time depends on your device, model, and video length. Try a short clip first, find settings that suit you, and leave time to listen to the result.”

DEVELOPER'S NOTE
A small beginning

From a love of Japanese culture,
into everyday Hong Kong Cantonese.

AniCanto began with an idea from SCKC: help people who love Japanese culture and anime discover Hong Kong Cantonese, its written words and everyday culture through familiar stories. Understand one line, listen at your pace, and let your interests begin the learning.

AI can help us explore a language and try making a dub. The artistry of human voice performers still deserves our appreciation and support.

A LITTLE MORE TO KNOW

Before your first line.

Which languages can I learn?

Use Japanese anime dialogue as your starting point. In learning mode, translate each line into Cantonese, English or Mandarin, compare the text and listen again. Translation and AI dubbing are separate steps. Available languages depend on the selected service and model.

Does dubbing need a cloud service?

No cloud dubbing service is required. With supported local models and resources ready, dubbing and export run on your device. Initial downloads and updates may still need internet access.

Can I download the iPhone or iPad app now?

The iPhone and iPad apps are being prepared for release. This page shows development interfaces. We will announce availability and device requirements once confirmed. A separate open-source desktop version is also available.
